2021 was quite a year for all of us at Trina Solar. The COVID-19 pandemic was not over yet, but the golden era for the industry was about to arrive. Facing challenges and opportunities, we have achieved a great amount thanks to our persistent hard work. 2021 has been a full year, and we approached it with steadfast determination and grit, bearing in mind the dream of “using solar energy to benefit all mankind.”
In 2021, we have married operating excellence with innovation. In terms of photovoltaic (PV) cell conversion efficiency and module output power, we have created and set a total of 22 world records. We led the "Key Technology and Application of High-efficiency and Low-cost Crystalline Silicon Solar Cell Surface Interface Manufacturing" program, which won the "State Technological Invention Award." This was the first state science and technology award won by China's PV industry, marking a truly historical milestone...
In 2021, our hard work has paid off. In China, our PV solutions have been widely put into use. We made the shipments of 210 mm 670 W Vertex ultra-high power modules with the special train “Vertex 670”, the first of its kind, to help develop large wind power and PV bases in China, accelerating China’s progress towards achieving national carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. Outside China, we’ve also made further applications for our PV solutions. To name but a few, we launched the “Zero-Carbon Wharf” Demonstration Project for the Expo 2025 Osaka, the world’s largest inland floating power plant project in Singapore, and distributed Trina Solar technology across rooftops in Belgium, India, Sri Lanka and other countries, which have received praise from various heads of states…
In 2021, we have achieved win-win results through cooperation. We have signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with many leading partners such as Sinopec, Maersk, COSCO Shipping and CET (China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd.), to unite and complement each party’s strengths and make our commitments to achieving carbon neutrality. We are sincerely united with our industry chain partners and dedicated to progressing together, reconstructing new business and building a new ecology with a model where competition and cooperation can coexist. The number of members of the 600W+ PV Open Innovation Ecological Alliance has increased, starting a new journey of “PV+”…
In 2021, we have moved forward guided by our mission. We formally joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to contribute towards limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C. We assisted flood-affected areas in Henan, working with the people of Henan, whatever the weather, to get through this difficult time. We jointly launched the Global Sustainable Energy Alliance to establish a new model of sustainable development, to promote China’s progress in building a PV-empowered moderately prosperous society in all respects, and to build a global home with PV solutions…

25 years ago, we held onto our belief because we had a dream. We always believe that the development and growth of low-carbon energy will make the sky bluer, water greener, air cleaner, and our future generations’ lives better!
25 years later, we are determined because we believe in our dream. Through the joint efforts of Trina Solar and everyone in the industry, PV has reached parity and become a pioneer in staying true to the principle that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. PV is now an important driving force in the construction of ecological civilization, and a green power that has changed the world. In the new era of global carbon neutrality, we will continue to strive to build a world-class leading enterprise that integrates solar energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy and intelligent energy internet to create a world of carbon-free new energy.
Standing at the starting line of the next 25 years, we are facing both opportunities and challenges. When China’s new energy generation exceeds 1 trillion kWh for the first time, and when the International Renewable Energy Agency predicts that the global installed capacity of photovoltaic will exceed 14,000 GW in 2050, we are soberly aware that our mission is a glorious one and we have an extremely significant responsibility!
To friends who share our dream, a new journey has been kicked off, and we are still hungry for progress. A new chapter has been unveiled, and we are giving full play to our youthful spirit.
