State-owned oil and gas company Petronas, which has set the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, launched an initiative to deploy solar energy across the group's assets in Malaysia to increase efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Among the assets is MHB's operations yard in Pasir Gudang. MHB is one of the first in the group to undertake Petronas' zero capital expenditure model offered by M+ by Petronas, the company's solar rooftop solution, to help reduce the group's carbon footprint.
The Pasir Gudang site is the single largest fabrication yard by annual tonnage capacity in Malaysia and includes one of Southeast Asia's largest dry docks.
